The  Acid Watcher ® Diet  is a detailed diet plan based upon low acid foods, using a nutritionally balanced combination of the three macronutrients of carbs, fats and proteins, with a large component of fiber rounding out the Diet.

Most modern diets that promise to help you shed pounds quickly are unsustainable. In addition, the typical popular diet is often not properly balanced with the macronutrients that your body needs. These diets are usually either a no-fat or a no-carb diet, or some version of a starvation diet. Healthy eating, as found in the Acid Watcher ® Diet , is about balance and moderation. It is never about the complete exclusion of carbs, fats, or proteins, but it is about the exclusion of highly acidic and processed foods.

The Acid Watcher ® Diet  consists of two parts: The Healing Phase which lasts for the first four weeks of the Diet, followed by the Maintenance Phase, which is the diet that you should maintain to stay healthy and acid reflux free for the rest of your life.

The Acid Watcher ® Diet  four week Healing Phase is the period of time in which your body will begin to heal itself from years of acid damage. These initial four weeks are usually the hardest part of the Diet for everyone, since you have to restrict all meals to foods above pH 5.

One great by-product of the Diet, is that not only will it help you get rid of your acid reflux disease, but you will lose weight as well. Patients of Dr. Aviv have mentioned that they lost up to 10 pounds within the first 3 weeks of following the Diet.
